The dispatch board for bus operators
Bus dispatch, one board for every trip.
Charters, shuttle departures and bus tours on one board, sharing one pool of buses and drivers. GridOps lists every trip still missing a bus or a driver, and checks every assignment before it’s saved.
$40 per bus per month, with a 30-day free trial.
WHAT IT IS
GridOps is bus dispatch software for bus and coach companies in Canada and the US that run charters, shuttle departures and bus tours, alone or together.
It replaces the whiteboard, the spreadsheet and the separate calendar each desk keeps. Every trip sits on one dispatch board by day or week, with its bus and its driver, and your whole team sees the same plan.
GridOps lists every trip still missing a bus or a driver for the next 30 days, ranks drivers by conflicts and hours left when you assign one, and checks every assignment before it’s saved. Short a driver? Offer the trip to your contractors in one email.

Your day, changed
What changes when dispatch moves onto one board?
The same seven moments of every dispatch day. Pick one to see what changes.
The dispatch board
Why run dispatch on one board?
A dispatch board puts every trip, bus and driver in one place, so the day can be planned, checked and fixed before anyone reaches the yard. GridOps adds a 30-day list of gaps and a conflict check on every assignment.
01
Every trip on one board
By day or by week, with every bus and every driver.
Day and week views, as a list or a time grid.
Charters, shuttle departures and bus tours together, with a filter for each.
Each trip shows its customer or route, its times, its bus and its driver.
Print the day sheet for your drivers in one click.
02
Catch the gaps before the customer does
A to-do list for the next 30 days, sorted by how soon it matters.
Every trip with no vehicle, no driver, or a driver booked twice.
Bus tours sold before a bus is assigned stay flagged until one is.
Sorted into Today, Tomorrow, Next 3 days, This week and Later.
A 6am alert names every tour booking still without a bus.
03
Assign without double booking
Every assignment checked, every driver ranked.
Drivers ranked by conflicts, availability and hours left in the day.
A driver load bar shows hours left against a 13-hour day, as a guide.
Conflicts are flagged before you save. Assign anyway only on purpose.
Swap the vehicle on a trip in one step.
04
Cover every trip
Short a driver? Offer the trip to your contractors.
Broadcast a trip by email to your preferred contractors first, then to everyone.
Contractors claim the trip in one click.
Contractor drivers get their own login and see only their own work.
Once a driver is on the trip, the customer gets a driver assigned email.
How does one board run charters, shuttles and tours?
Each line keeps its own workflow, and they all share one board, one pool of buses and one team of drivers. When a charter takes a bus, that date disappears from the on-demand tour calendar, and the other way round.
Charters
Accepted quotes land ready to dispatch
An accepted charter quote becomes a booking on the board with its pickup, stops and return already set. Assign the bus and driver, and the customer is emailed.

Shuttle departures
Departures come from your schedules
Shuttle departures are created from your schedules. Assign a bus and its seat count becomes the departure’s capacity, then board passengers from the manifest.
Selling seats online?
Customers pick a departure and pay by card in our shuttle booking software.
Bus tours
Sell seats before a bus is on it
Tour departures sit beside your charters. You can sell seats before a bus is assigned, and the action queue keeps the departure flagged until one is.
Running bus tours?
Sell seats or the whole bus in our bus tour booking software.
Everything around the board, already handled
Team notes, fleet blocks, driver screens and customer emails come with every dispatch board. Nothing to add on.
Your team
Notes and @mentions on every trip
Leave a note on a trip, or @mention a person or a group. Customers never see it.
Roles for every desk
Owners, dispatchers, sales, accountants and drivers each see only their part.
Who changed that trip?
Every change to bookings, quotes and payments, with who made it, when, and what it was before.
Your fleet
A fleet calendar for every bus
Day, week, month and driver views, with charters, shuttle departures and tours on each bus.
Maintenance and time off
Block a bus for maintenance or a driver for time off, with a buffer either side.
Buses held for quotes
A sent charter quote can hold a bus for 72 hours, so it can’t be sold twice.
Your drivers
A home screen for every driver
Drivers see their next trip, today and the week ahead.
Availability in one calendar
Drivers mark when they can work, and the board uses it when it ranks them.
An onboarding link
New drivers send their licence details and photo through one link.
Your customers
Driver assigned emails
Customers are emailed when a driver is assigned to their trip.
Trip reminders
Reminders go out to the customer at the times you set.
Reviews after the trip
After the trip, customers are asked for a Google review. Low ratings alert you first and offer a private feedback box.
Pricing
What does bus dispatch software cost?
One price per bus, with the dispatch board and every other GridOps feature included. No per-user fees and no booking fee on charters.
Questions operators ask about bus dispatch
Does GridOps run charters, shuttles and tours on one board?
Yes. Charters, shuttle departures and bus tours share one dispatch board, with a filter for each, and draw on the same buses and drivers.
Does it assign drivers automatically?
No. When you assign a trip, GridOps ranks drivers by conflicts, availability and hours left, so the right driver is at the top and you choose in one click.
Does GridOps track hours of service?
No. Each driver shows a load bar against a 13-hour day, as a guide when you assign. Keep using your logbook or ELD for hours of service.
Does it show where my buses are right now?
No. GridOps plans and checks the work. It doesn’t track vehicles by GPS.
What does the action queue show?
Every trip in the next 30 days that is missing a vehicle or a driver, has a driver booked twice, or is a bus tour sold before a bus is assigned, sorted from today to later.
Can contractors pick up trips?
Yes. Broadcast a trip by email to your preferred contractors first, then to everyone, and a contractor claims it in one click.
Can I print tomorrow’s plan?
Yes. Print the day sheet for any day in one click.
Can dispatchers see only what they need?
Yes. Owners, admins, managers, dispatchers, sales, accountants and drivers each have a role that shows only their part of GridOps.
How long does setup take?
GridOps can be set up in as little as 24 hours, and we can help move your information across.
What counts as a bus?
Every vehicle you book or dispatch, from a minibus to a 56-seat coach, counts as one bus in the price.
